IMPORTANT NOTICE!
SB 854 requires ALL contractors, including subcontractors, to register with the Department of Industrial Relations prior to bidding on public works projects (submitted on or after March 1, 2015).
All contractors and subcontractors intending to bid or work on a public works project (as defined in Labor Code), must register and pay an annual fee to the State of California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). This registration fee is paid directly to the DIR. The Empire Union School District will not register contractors, nor will the District receive fees for registration. Annual registration is valid through June 30th each year. For more information regarding SB 854 requirements, click here.

Developer Fee Study
A public hearing will be held by the governing Board of the Empire Union Elementary School District at its regular meeting of May 9, 2024, in which the Board will consider a resolution implementing school facilities fees in accordance with Education Code Section 17620.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the district offices, located at 116 North McClure Rd, Modesto, CA 95357.

CUPCAA Registration
Empire Union School District is inviting licensed contractors, under the provision of PCC Section 22036 of the Uniform Public Construction Code Account Act be included on the agency’s list of qualified bidders for the entire 2024 calendar year. Licensed contractors are encouraged to submit.
The contractor’s request for inclusion shall include, at minimum, the following:

Type of work contractor is currently licensed to perform
